$30/consultation ($50 for asylum cases)

Citizenship Classes

Our free 12-week citizenship course can prepare you for the naturalization exam and interview. Come learn alongside others on the path toward citizenship and gain the knowledge in US history and civics as well as reading and writing skills you need to succeed.

Classes are currently offered in both English and Spanish on a quarterly basis.

Workshops

We partner with other organizations and allies to host naturalization workshops throughout the city of Chicago and beyond to support the immigrant community.

Our Community Navigators initiative also sponsors Know Your Rights workshops to equip you with information and resources in case you are confronted by law enforcement or immigration officials.

Volunteer

Looking to help out? There are several tangible ways you can support and stand in solidarity with immigrants in our community.

Citizenship Class Tutor

Work alongside legal permanent residents studying for the civics exam en route to becoming U.S. citizens. 

Ideal Commitment: 1 day/week for at least 2 quarters

Workshop Attorney

Complete legal reviews for participants at workshops hosted in the community. 

Ideal Commitment: 4 hours/month on Saturdays; volunteers should have legal background

Workshop Assistant

Assist citizenship applicants with filling out naturalization paperwork

Ideal Commitment: 4 hours/month on Saturdays; no legal experience necessary

Survivors of Domestic Abuse or Sexual Assault

If you have experienced the trauma of domestic abuse, sexual assault or other violent crimes, we want to support you with the care and resources you need to find healing and move forward. You might also be eligible for certain immigration benefits.

Thanks to a grant from the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority, we are able to provide you with a free legal consultation and representation in addition to free mental health services.
