Erie Neighborhood House executive director Kirstin Chernawsky has been named a 2019 Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow.<\/p>\n
Leadership Greater Chicago (LGC) is a premiere civic leadership development program that convenes, connects and mobilizes some of the region\u2019s most promising leaders, a diverse group of individuals representing the corporate, nonprofit, government and education sectors.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is an honor for me to join such a distinguished group of leaders,\u201d said Chernawsky, who is in her third year as executive director at Erie House. \u201cThis will be a great opportunity for me to grow personally, but I\u2019m equally excited about applying what I learn through LGC to the work we are doing at Erie House.\u201d<\/p>\n
This year, LGC will engage 40 leaders in a rigorous 10-month program that provides the foundation for a lifelong commitment to civic engagement. Fellows will gain a deep understanding of the area\u2019s most pressing and complex issues, and develop the robust analytical skills needed for positive social change.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur Fellows come from diverse backgrounds but share a common goal to create a better and more united Chicago for all who call it home,\u201d said Maria Wynne, CEO of Leadership Greater Chicago. \u201cWe are grateful for the support of the many sponsors who nominated these outstanding individuals and believe in their ability to change the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\nChernawsky is the third individual from Erie House\u2014along with former executive directors Ricardo Estrada and Celena Rold\u00e1n\u2014to participate in the prestigious LGC Fellows Program, which has trained more than 1,100 leaders over the course of its 35-year history.<\/p>\n
