{"id":1500,"date":"2020-06-03T16:23:29","date_gmt":"2020-06-03T16:23:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.neoninspire.com\/tryonridingandhuntclub\/?page_id=1500"},"modified":"2020-07-06T21:18:29","modified_gmt":"2020-07-06T21:18:29","slug":"philanthropy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.neoninspire.com\/tryonridingandhuntclub\/philanthropy\/","title":{"rendered":"Philanthropy"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>\n\t\tPhilanthropy\n\t<\/h1>\n\t<p>TR&amp;HC believes in giving back to the community through donations made to local non-profits.\u00a0 This is an important aspect of the Club.<\/p>\n<p>In 2015 through 2017 the Club averaged donations totalling over $25,000 annually, In 2018 and 2019, we increased our annual donations to both equestrian and community groups to over $50,000 each year.<\/p>\n<p>In acknowledgement of the 2020 covid 19 crisis, the Club recently offered a $2,500 matching grant for donations to Foothills Equine Rescue Assistance (FERA).\u00a0 FERA helps people and animals caught in bad economic situations including those caused by the pandemic.\u00a0 The Matching Grant raised a total of $8700!<\/p>\n<p>Beyond this special grant, the Club is on track for another solid year of donations back to the community.<\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\t2020 Local Charities Receiving Grants\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>PEER is a 501c3 organization serving the greater Foothills Area, providing skilled emergency rescue services for our equestrian and large animal agricultural community. At the heart of our organization is our client choice food pantry, where residents can shop for 2 baskets of groceries each month.<\/p>\n<p>We also provide financial assistance\u00a0for rent, utilities, prescriptions, dental care, and more.\u00a0 Seasonal programs include the Feed-a-Kid school backpack program, school supply distribution, and Holiday program.\u00a0 We accomplish all of this with local support &#8211; generous donors, foundations, churches, partner\u00a0agencies, and dedicated volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>(828) 894-2988<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tboutreach.org\">www.tboutreach.org<\/a><\/p>\n\t<p>Guiding Reins is an equine-assisted therapy program dedicated to improving the quality of life for military personnel,\u00a0their families, veterans,\u00a0first responders, and people with special needs or others affected by mental, physical, emotional\u00a0trauma and\/or\u00a0challenges.\u00a0 We offer both ground and mounted therapy in individual sessions as well as group events throughout the year with PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) certified instructors leading the sessions.<\/p>\n<p>The success of equine assisted therapies and riding programs has been proven time and again, not only with physical challenges but also to enhance emotional connections and relieve mental stress among veterans.\u00a0 Most programs in the Upstate area offer services to a wide array of individuals, but do not specifically address \u00a0target trauma-induced illnesses among veteran populations.\u00a0 Guiding Reins aims to fill that void and offer their services at no cost to veterans.<\/p>\n<p>Now, we are faced with this same post-traumatic stress among our Health Care Providers on the front lines of COVID-19.
