{"id":546,"date":"2019-02-09T05:11:41","date_gmt":"2019-02-09T05:11:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.neoninspire.com\/weavespindye\/?page_id=546"},"modified":"2019-02-21T17:40:37","modified_gmt":"2019-02-21T17:40:37","slug":"hga-award","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.neoninspire.com\/weavespindye\/hga-award\/","title":{"rendered":"HGA Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>\n\t\tHGA Award\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>The HGA\u00a0Award\u00a0honors outstanding exhibited works of fiber art which clearly demonstrate excellence, specifically: handweaving, handspinning, dyeing, basketry, felting, and related fiber arts.<\/p>\n\t<p>HGA Affiliate Guild Members and HGA Professional Organization Members sponsoring or hosting a fiber art exhibit may request an HGA Award to honor outstanding exhibited works of fiber art which fit the award criteria.<\/p>\n<p>The HGA Award includes a certificate of accomplishment and a handwoven ribbon. Award winners will have their work published in Shuttle Spindle &amp; Dyepot, HGA\u2019s quarterly member magazine, so it may be appreciated by our international readership of fiber artists, enthusiasts, and collectors.<\/p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/weavespindye.z2systems.com\/np\/clients\/weavespindye\/survey.jsp?surveyId=7&amp;\">HGA Award Application<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/weavespindye.z2systems.com\/np\/viewDocument?orgId=weavespindye&amp;id=4028e4e559a5f7f70159cd9237f4008b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HGA Award Digital Publicity Permission Form<\/a>\n\t<h3>Eligibility Requirements and Exhibit Criteria<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Exhibitions must be sponsored or hosted by an HGA Affiliate Guild Member or an HGA Professional Organization Member.<\/li>\n<li>Exhibitions or fashion shows must be juried or entries judged for awards.<\/li>\n<li>In the case of textile conferences, the juried for acceptance requisite may be waived, provided entries are judged for awards at the conference.<\/li>\n<li>Fashion shows may entail a runway component but must be hung for public display.<\/li>\n<li>Mixed media shows must include an appreciable number of fiber art pieces.<\/li>\n<li>State Fairs or Provincial exhibits must provide an Arts Gallery for the juried show.<\/li>\n<li>Exhibit must be open to the public for a minimum of one day or be part of a textile conference.<\/li>\n<li>The award is not available for demonstrations or contests.<\/li>\n<li>Award requests must be made at least three months (90 days) before the date of the exhibit.<\/li>\n<li>If no entry meets the outlined criteria, the HGA Award must be returned to the HGA office.<\/li>\n<li>Winners must submit digital image of winning entry with the HGA Award Digital Publicity Permission Form.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/weavespindye.z2systems.com\/np\/clients\/weavespindye\/survey.jsp?surveyId=7&#038;\" target=\"_self\" role=\"button\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tApply Now\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.neoninspire.com\/weavespindye\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/199\/2019\/01\/HGA-Award-e1548689751719.jpg\" alt=\"HGA Award\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"929\" width=\"1600\" title=\"HGA Award\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t<h3>Award Criteria<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be limited to a work of handweaving, spinning, basketry, dyeing, or related fiber arts.<\/li>\n<li>Must embody a unique interpretation; demonstrate a fresh, individual approach, and express personal creativity.<\/li>\n<li>Must exemplify a complete understanding of both aesthetic and functional considerations.<\/li>\n<li>Must demonstrate excellence in technical skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t<h4>For more information about the HGA Award or to inquire about the status of your request call <a href=\"tel:+16787300010\">(678) 730-0010<\/a> or email <a href=\"mailto:Exhibits@WeaveSpinDye.org\">Exhibits@WeaveSpinDye.org<\/a>.<\/h4>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HGA Award The HGA\u00a0Award\u00a0honors outstanding exhibited works of fiber art which clearly demonstrate excellence, specifically: handweaving, handspinning, dyeing, basketry, felting, and related fiber arts.
