The Whatcom County Business Community is invited to a unique lunch meeting on Wednesday, September 5th at Whatcom Community College to be part of a discussion between you and our area colleges about the future of our economy and the workforce behind it. You will meet mayors and visitors from Bellingham’s seven (7) sister cities.
This free lunch event sponsored byWBA member, Saturna Capital, is your opportunity to show our overseas mayors and visitors how dynamic our business and industry sectors are, and for you to provide input on your future needs to those that are training our workforce.
Don Goldberg of the Port of Bellingham will moderate a panel of area college presidents and leaders in a dialogue with you and the business community. The presidents of Whatcom Community College, Bellingham Technical College, and Northwest Indian College are among the panelists.
The Bellingham Sister Cities Association has invited the mayors of all seven (7) of our/their sister cities to Bellingham to celebrate our/the 60th anniversary of relations with Tateyama, Japan. Bellingham mayor Kelli Linville will be joined by the mayors of Tateyama, Vaasa, Finland, Tsetserleg, Mongolia, Port Stephens, Australia, and representatives of Cheongju, South Korea, Nakhodtka, Russia, and Punta Arenas, Chile.
Doors open at 11:30 a.m. at the Syre Center, Whatcom Community College, Wednesday, September 5, 2018, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Parking is free around Syre Center.
After the event our guests will tour a number of our local businesses. This is an opportunity to celebrate and build on the many cultural, educational, business, and governmental relationships Bellingham shares with all our sister cities. You never know what might come about because of your attendance!
