The Program
The Tryon Riding and Hunt Club Equestrian Grant Program is established to assist youth and adults in the Tryon area pursuing the highest levels of equestrian training, coaching, competition, business, and stable management skills. Each year, we allocate $3,000 for qualifying programs with the money being divided amongst up to six $500 awards depending on the applicant pool. Grants will be awarded based on the merit of the proposal and the quality of the application.
Examples of programs that the TR&HC would support include, but are not limited to, contributing to Zone Final or Pony Final expenses, IEA membership fees, EAP tuition, and fees toward steward, course designer, or judge’s licensure. Basic lessons to improve riding skills at any level generally would not qualify.
Grants will be paid only to a third party either sponsoring or providing the training with exceptions in advance only by permission of TR&HC. Award recipients must provide a complete invoice to TR&HC with program description and payee.
Applications may be submitted at any time during the year and will be considered promptly as needed.
All grant recipients will be asked to write a report or story about their experience at the conclusion of the program in the form of a letter, journal or diary. Photographs are encouraged. The report will be kept by TR&HC, shared with local organizations if applicable, and may be used for publicity purposes to advance the overall awards program. All decisions of TR&HC are final.
This is a new and evolving TR&HC program so changes and modifications may be made at TR&HC’s discretion at any point in time. TR&HC welcomes individuals who would like to donate to or fund a specific grant within this program.
