EVENT TYPES

At MichBio, we host a variety of events that are categorized based on their scale, who can attend, and if the event is part of an ongoing series. Learn more about the types of events you can expect from MichBio below.

EVENT SERIES

Series events are grouped by related content, format, or purpose - for example, educational webinars v. networking happy hours. Virtually all series events are free for members. Nonmembers are asked to pay a small registration fee for most series events. Current event series include:

BioMixer - company-sponsored networking happy hours

BioArbor - educational panel discussions targeted at emerging companies. Learn more.

MichBio U - educational webinars on a variety of business-related topics

Diversity Network - events related to the empowerment of underrepresented groups

MEMBER-ONLY EVENTS

MichBio members enjoy exclusive access to events related to advocacy and leader development or collaboration - generally at no cost. Example member-only events include:

BioConnections - programming focused on connecting companies either locally or through partnering at national events

Bioscience Legislative Caucus -  briefings, informational and planning sessions, and networking opportunities with State lawmakers

Capitol Day - annual visit to the State Capitol where representatives from member companies meet with legislators

CEO & Leaders Club - exclusive networking and collaboration opportunities for member CEO and leaders with must-see guest CEO's

MEMBER-SUBMITTED EVENTS

MichBio members are encouraged to submit their events to be published on our events calendar, our social media, and in our monthly newsletter. Examples of member-submitted events include:

MichBio will often co-promote large or otherwise beneficial events to the Michigan community. Often this co-promotion results in registration discounts for member companies. Examples of partner events include:

SIGNATURE EVENTS

Throughout the year, MichBio will host several large, usually full-day, conference-style events with must-see speakers, educational content, networking, sponsor and exhibitor opportunities, and more. These events are typically focused on a specific sector of the industry. Examples of Signature events include:

BioTalent Summit -  a gathering of industry, academic, and economic development professionals to discuss bio-industry talent

Drug Discovery Symposium - in partnership with the URC, this is a full-day conference highlighting the latest trends and developments in pharmaceutical research

Medical Device Summit - educational conference focused on the medical device regulations, developments, and best practices

Patient Advocacy Forum - a gathering of patient advocates, industry professionals, and lawmakers to discuss opportunities for and barriers to patient engagement
